This week, our campus buzzed with purposeful learning, thoughtful planning, and a spirit of thankfulness. Teachers and students engaged in meaningful lessons while grade‑level teams focused on planning to help our 8th graders prepare for their high school pathways. We’re grateful for the collaboration of staff, the enthusiasm of students, and the support of families as we guide students toward their next steps. Congratulations to our Bearcubs of the Week!

This week’s staff spotlight shines on Angela Novacek. Angela has worked in education for nine years and currently serves our students in the Special Education BASE program. Calm and steady in every situation, she’s always there when you need her, a dependable presence for both students and colleagues. Before entering education, Angela worked in the travel industry. She joined the field of education to inspire students to love learning and to help them grow into better people. Angela brings creativity and warmth to the classroom, building trusting relationships and designing lessons that meet each student where they are.

She is a proud mom to two amazing children and two spoiled cats! In her free time, she enjoys music, history, cultural documentaries, audiobooks, musical theatre, and riding bikes with her family.

Thank you, Angela, for your dedication, steady leadership, and the joy you bring to our school community.

This week’s Staff Spotlight shines on Ruby Morales, our warm and welcoming attendance secretary. You’ll often see her smiling face to the left as you enter the front office. Ruby has worked in education since 2019 while attending college to become a middle school teacher, and she will graduate in May. This is her first year as an attendance clerk, and she’s jumped into the role with enthusiasm, always ready to help families and support students.

Originally from the El Paso area, Ruby moved here this year and has quickly become a familiar presence at school events — especially our sports games. She’s an avid football fan who loves cheering for UT and the Denver Broncos, and you’ll often spot her in the stands supporting her favorite teams. Outside of school she enjoys reading, is a big Ariana Grande fan, and loves visiting Disneyland whenever she can. Ruby is happily married and shares her home with two beloved pet “babies,” a dog and a cat.

We’re grateful for her positive energy and dedication — stop by to say hello and wish her luck as she finishes her degree this spring!

Our fall band concert was a wonderful celebration of music and community spirit! Students showcased their hard work and talent with lively performances that filled the cafeteria with energy and joy. We proudly celebrated our Quarter 1 Honor Roll students who earned all A's, all A's with one B, and all A's with two B's. These outstanding students were treated to a delicious snack generously donated by our amazing PTO and received a special celebratory bracelet.
